Leadership is an on-going journey.
As the world changes dramatically at blinding pace, we need to continuously stay abreast and contend with current and emerging challenges requiring us to renew our leadership capability.
In the context of organizations, leadership capability refers to the sum total of individual capabilities that come together to build organization leadership, which is often, far more than just an aggregation of individual skills and competencies.
Leadership is about moving energies
Individuals and teams display leadership by bringing together and moving various energies towards particular business goals like expansion, acquisition, structuring . Energies could be resources such as people, money, processes, systems amongst others. They could also be external brand development, dealing with competition, government legislation etc.. Further, rallying people towards goals also pose challenges. These could be challenges of understanding, differences in approach, collaboration, interpersonal differences and so on and so forth, each of which may require new skills in newer areas as per the business context. These are few examples of leadership challenges that constitute a Leadership journey.
